1099s...

When my wife and I talk about my job as "BA, the accountant", she likes to make sure we talk in the same language. I like to call it the real language of love, but it's really just the language of business... you know, 1099s, depreciating assets, ... those two words in particular are pretty much the only words she likes to use when talking shop with me. In fact, when she asks the question, "What did you do at work today?", she immediately follows with, "Did you work on 1099s?" And so, that's what I do... I work on 1099s. To be honest, although I have filled out many tax forms in my days as "BA, the accountant", I have yet to fill out a 1099.

At the moment, I really don't know what to do with this blog. We shall see. In the meantime, here's Wikipedia's explanation of the 1099... Enjoy...

Form 1099 is a form promulgated by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and is used in the United States income tax system to prepare and file an information return to report various types of income other than wages, salaries, and tips (for which Social Security Administration Form W-2 is used instead). The term information return is used in contrast to the term tax return although the latter term is sometimes used colloquially to describe both kinds of returns.

We the people are interested in more definitions. Like, depreciating assets, PNL's and negative ameritization to name a few.
